Before LifeShare, what is the biggest struggle you faced?

We were unable to create digital signage without help from our Tech Department.  We spent about 2 hours a week creating a weekly calendar that had to be hand typed into a Word Document.  The shared calendar programming for us had to be cross-referenced and checked in a weekly meeting.

NOW we can easily data input a calendar event, make it repeatable, and assign it to the different areas of programming with one entry!  The system is easy to navigate. We can even create our own background slides for announcements. If a background is too hard to create, I just email support and within the same day, I have an announcement slide available for my use.

What has been your most memorable experience with LifeShare?

My most memorable experience was when my Music Therapist and I were able to set up the whole system all by ourselves, no tutorial or long webinars on how to data input.  We had a call from LifeShare to set up their first tutorial only to find out that we had it all done. Seeing that we were proficient in calendar creating our calendars and announcements they jumped ahead to video, slideshow and announcement creations.

Within a month we were saving at least 1 – 2 hours a week with the LifeShare weekly calendar creator.  We can’t imagine going back to the manual calendar creator. The ability to control what is displayed on the Kendal TV channel for announcements and daily activities without going through the Tech department is such a time saver and can so easily be done.  The annual cost is so minimal to the time we were spending on these items.

What are your 3 favorite features about using LifeShare?

Weekly Calendar creator
the App for families to see what is on the activity schedule
The ability to assign a program to a specific calendar display and calendar creator.

What is the biggest result you’ve experienced by using LifeShare?

Families being able to independently see what is happening on our calendar has increased family satisfaction.  The other result is the DECREASE in the amount of time we are spending on creating calendars.

What is it like to work with the LifeShare Support staff?

So, easy.  Just email or call.  You have immediate results.  There have been many times that I will send an email to the support email and by the end of the work day I will have a new slide background, or someone will send me a reminder of how to do a task I might not have done in a while.

If another community were to ask you about LifeShare, what would you say?

If you are looking for a digital signage program or a calendar creator program, this is the software you want to purchase.  It is cost-efficient and easy to use.

What is your biggest struggle with the LifeShare system?

I would love to have it connect with Amazon Echo/Alexa, so residents who have low vision could the activity calendar read out loud to them.  It would be great if they could then have an event tagged for a reminder by Alexa to alert to attend.

I would like to have more control over the MONTHLY layout.  It really does not have enough space to print our 8-12 activities a day and I can’t add photos and fun stuff.

Is there anything else you would like to add?
